GROBUND

Landbrugsuddannelsen som grobund for grønne forandringsagenter

Danish agriculture is entering a period of major change, shaped by both generational renewal and the green transition. To help prepare future farmers for these challenges, Danske Landbrugsskoler, representing all Danish agricultural schools, has joined forces with relevant scientific partners in the project Landbrugsuddannelsen som grobund for grønne forandringsagenter. Supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation, the project aims to strengthen agricultural education and equip students and apprentices with the knowledge and skills needed to become green change agents and future land managers.
A central goal of the project is to bring hands-on learning about sustainable farming practices and green technologies into agricultural education at all levels. This includes developing new teaching tools that help students better understand biological processes and the environmental effects of different management decisions.
For more information, read about the project here.
As part of this collaboration, Land-CRAFT is contributing to the development of a digital twin framework for agricultural systems. The framework will support the exploration of different farm management strategies and their implications for productivity, economics, and environmental sustainability. It will also serve as a basis for testing and demonstrating how digital tools can support more informed and future-oriented decision-making in agriculture.
In the longer term, the digital twin is intended to grow into an interactive platform for both decision-making and education. By allowing users to explore scenarios and compare the consequences of different farming strategies, the system will support resource-efficient and climate-smart agriculture while also giving students a practical way to engage with the complex decisions facing modern farming.
We are delighted to partner with Danske Landbrugsskoler in this project and look forward to involving the farmers of tomorrow in our research.
