Professor Dr. Klaus Butterbach-Bahl receives his award in San Francisco

Professor Dr. Klaus Butterbach-Bahl has now received the prestigious award, the Nobel Sustainability Award, awarded by the Nobel Sustainability Trust Foundation “For [his] Outstanding Research & Development in the field of Agriculture”.

He is more specifically awarded for his research work on quantifying greenhouse emissions and his studies on the biosphere-atmosphere exchange. Klaus is known for his research on nitrogen cycles and greenhouse gas emissions in relation to their agricultural and ecological impact as well as his exploration of practical mitigation options under climate change constraints. 


The award ceremony took place in San Francisco 20th – 21st of November 2024.
