''Peatlands for climate change mitigation in agriculture,'' was hosted by Land-CRAFT in October. The event was one of the first hosted by the newly-established pioneering center. OECD-CRP, a program designed to strengthen the science-policy interface, sponsored the conference. In attendance were over 50 international participants, including those from New Zealand, Germany, the USA, and Estonia, alongside experts from Denmark.
Included in the wide-ranging discussions were the following topics:
- Mapping peatlands and their current use
- Peatland biogeochemistry and hydrology
- Greenhouse gas balances of agricultural peatlands
- Models and tools to quantify peatland impacts
- Restoration of peatlands
- Paludiculture
- Incentives and policy
