''Peatlands for climate change mitigation in agriculture,'' was hosted by Land-CRAFT in October. The event was one of the first hosted by the newly-established pioneering center. OECD-CRP, a program designed to strengthen the science-policy interface, sponsored the conference. In attendance were over 50 international participants, including those from New Zealand, Germany, the USA, and Estonia, alongside experts from Denmark.

Included in the wide-ranging discussions were the following topics:

  • Mapping peatlands and their current use
  • Peatland biogeochemistry and hydrology
  • Greenhouse gas balances of agricultural peatlands
  • Models and tools to quantify peatland impacts
  • Restoration of peatlands
  • Paludiculture
  • Incentives and policy
